With his brown arms that carried the gun and defended the homeland, the wounded Ali Hassan Idris makes his way with determination to work, defying his injury by cultivating the land and benefiting from its production in order to secure a material income to support his family.
The wounded Ali Hassan Idris said that he was shot in the feet in the Zabadani area in 2015, which led to the loss of muscle and nerves and his disability by 60 percent. He provided his livelihood and supported his family by investing an area of 1,600 square meters that was barren and unproductive. He reclaimed and planted that piece of the homeland with various types of grains and vegetables, especially molokhia, for which his village “Al-Safa” in Salhab district is famous for. With the help of his wife and children and a number of his colleagues, the wounded Ali and the families of the martyrs moved it to the stage of production and marketing of the crop on a daily basis to the neighboring regions and villages. This supported him with a financial return, especially in light of the difficult living conditions.
The wife of the wounded, Idris Umm Hassan, noted her husband’s determination and will to move forward with his project, despite his health condition and injury, indicating that he is working on uprooting mallow sticks from the ground, while she is working on picking its leaves, drying them well and placing them in sealed bags to be ready for sale side by side with winter supplies.
Hassan Idris, the father of the wounded Ali and two other martyrs, explained that he works with his son and helps him in his project to achieve the required success in order to improve his living conditions and secure the livelihood of his young children.
