The World Should Thank Syria for Fighting Terrorism Which Is Threatening All Countries: Cuban Ambassador

DAMASCUS, (ST)- The Cuban Ambassador to Syria Miguel Porto Parga has hailed the steadfastness of the Syrian people and the victories achieved by the Syrian Arab army over foreign-backed terrorism, pointing out that  the entire world should thank Syria for its steadfastness and fight against terrorism which has become a threat to all countries.

Parga made the remarks during his meeting on Tuesday with Speaker of the People’s Assembly Hammoudeh al-Sabbagh. The meeting dealt with friendship and historical ties between Syria and Cuba and with enhancing cooperation in different fields. 

 Al-Sabbagh called for intensifying the joint work of the friendship societies in the Syrian People’s Assembly and the Cuban National Assembly. He also urged exchanging visits to achieve the interests of the two countries and enhance their stance in the confrontation of world imperialism and its suspicious schemes against independent states.

The Cuban Ambassador, who expressed his country’s determination to continue standing against Western dictates, stressed that Cuba will keep supporting the Syrian people to help them surpass the crisis. He expressed hope that Syria will achieve complete victory on terrorism soon.
