The work of the Syrian Doctors Conference began in Aleppo
Aleppo, (ST) – With the participation of more than 400 doctors, the activities of the Fifth Medical Conference for Syrian Doctors under the title “Syria Advances in Science and Work” was launched at the Sheraton Aleppo Hotel.
The three-day conference includes 125 lectures and sessions on cardiology and its surgery, neurological, digestive and thoracic diseases, anesthesia, eye surgery, sessions for laparoscopic and plastic surgery, oncology, pathology, ear diseases and children.
Dr. Hassan Al-Ghubash, Minister of Health, said in a speech during the opening ceremony that the title of the conference is an affirmation of the partnership between the Ministry of Health and medical unions to develop the medical profession and advance it for the better and provide all support to the Syrian doctors to exercise their active role in providing treatment to patients.
He said that, the Ministry of Health was able, despite all the challenges imposed by the terrorist war, the economic blockade and the Corona pandemic, to achieve advanced steps in terms of improving the health situation and providing a better service to patients.
“The Ministry of Health also still pays special attention to prevention, early detection of the disease and reducing the economic burden of treatment on the government and families by implementing vaccination campaigns against paralysis, pediatrics, early detection of breast cancer, training and development of doctors”, Minister Al-Ghubash added.
Dr. Kamal Amer, the Head of the Syrian Physicians Syndicate, pointed out the importance of holding the conference in Aleppo, which the Syndicate has been holding, emphasizing and insisting on continuing the life and building process in the health sector.
He considered that, the conference was a message of steadfastness and defiance for those who tried to undermine Syria, for it is a new path in the medical research process, enriched with new lectures and research, and an embodiment of linking the theoretical side with the practical, as all possibilities were harnessed to make it successful.
In turn, Dr. Safwan Zuaiter spoke about the importance of the research discussed at the conference, which deals with various diseases and specializations of the heart, chest and digestive system. He referred to the efforts that have been made to provide the latest medical treatments to patients and put them within the reach of doctors to improve the health situation.
SANA met a number of participating doctors coming from different governorates, where they explained that the conference sessions contribute to an increase and exchange of experiences in the medical fields and new developments in the treatment of various heart, chest, eye, ear and throat diseases and cancers.
During the first day, the medical exhibition for medical equipment, technologies and medicines for various diseases was opened, with the participation of more than 20 pharmaceutical companies and institutions.
