The Winter Olympics opened in China

Beijing (ST): The opening ceremony of the 2022 BeijingWinter Olympics kicked off in the Chinese capital today, becoming the first city in the world to host the Summer and Winter Olympic Games.

According to Xinhua, the program of the ceremony is divided into 15 paragraphs, including the athletes’ parade and the lighting of the Olympic torch, noting that the opening coincides with the beginning of spring and includes an introductory performance of the square dance at the National Stadium (Birds’ Nest) by dancers between 5 and 70 years old.

Later, Chinese President Xi Jinping will announce the official launch of the Games, in the presence of a number of heads of state, including Russia’s Vladimir Putin.

On the 25th of last month, Ping announced that his country had completed its preparations for the Winter Olympics, with the participation of nearly 3,000 athletes from about 90 countries and regions, considering this event as an opportunity for athletes to realize their dreams.
