The West Wants to Divide Syria, but Iran Won’t Allow this Goal to be Achieved- Khamenei

TEHRAN, (ST)-Leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has stressed that the West wants to divide Syria, but Iran won’t allow this goal to be achieved.

Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with the participants in the 8th Session of the General Assembly of Islamic Radio and Television Union (IRTVU) in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

Khamenei also said that Western countries imagine that the nuclear deal between Iran and the G5+1 will be an inroad into Iran, but Iran didn’t and will not allow them to achieve their goal.

 “We will firmly block their way. We will not allow the US to make economic, political or cultural inroads into the country. We will counter such infiltration with all our power,” Khamenei said.

Activities of 8th Session of the General Assembly of Islamic Radio and Television Union continued in Tehran on Monday with the participation of Syria’s Information Minister Omran al-Zou’bi and senior political and media figures.

Families of journalists martyred while doing their duty in defending the nation are due to be honored and a ceremony will be held to distribute awards on 21 distinguished media works. Best in the field of resistant media and film making in the Islamic world will be awarded within the activities of the session which will also include political programs and studies on the latest developments in the region and the world.

On Sunday, Information Minister Omran al-Zou’bi and Secretary General of the Islamic Radios and Televisions Union “IRTVU” Ali Karimian opened the Photographic Islamic News Agency and the Islamic Film Market.
