The West’s practices increase the suffering of the Syrian people, says Slovakian analyst

Bratislava, (ST) – Slovak political analyst Branislav Fabri stressed that the unilateral Western coercive measures imposed on Syria only increased the suffering of the Syrian people.

Fabri said in an article published on the Novi Slovo website that “these measures failed to achieve their political goals in terms of putting pressure on the Syrian government to change its positions. Therefore, the Europeans must accept the status quo as conditions in Syria have changed on the ground politically in favor of the Syrian government.”

Fabri criticized the double standards by which the West operates, pointing out that it cooperates extensively with the Saudi regime, even though it is leading a terrible war against Yemen and adopts violent behavior against its citizens at home. He said that the European Union’s continued policy of imposing more sanctions against other countries could increase the escalation of tension affecting Europe itself.
