The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission: The Israeli occupation and its settlers carried out 492 attacks last month

The Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission in the Occupied Palestinian Territories revealed that the Israeli occupation forces and settlers carried out 492 attacks in the West Bank last May.

“These attacks, which included storming cities and towns, attacking Palestinians, destroying lands, uprooting trees and seizing property, were concentrated in Nablus with 132 attacks, followed by Jenin with 69, then Tulkarem with 43 attacks,” WAFA news agency quoted the authority as saying in its monthly report issued today.

The report indicated that the number of attacks carried out by settlers amounted to 73, the most brutal of which occurred in the towns of Burqa and Jalud in Nablus, Yabad in Jenin and Silwan in Jerusalem.

The report said that settlers cut down 2,961 olive, citrus, almond and palm trees, most of which were in the cities of Hebron and Nablus.

Muayad Shaaban, Chairman of the Commission, stated that the occupation demolished 54 establishments and homes last May in the West Bank, and issued 72 demolition and eviction notices, 42 of which were in Salfit, while it seized about 167 dunams of land from Qalqilya, Nablus, Jenin and Ramallah, and announced six plans to establish 918 settlement units to expand several settlements in the West Bank.
