The victory of the Lebanese resistance in 2006, a turning point that revealed the weakness of the Israeli enemy

Damascus (ST): An historic victory was achieved by the Lebanese National Resistance after the July 2006 aggression, which revealed the weakness of the capabilities of the Israeli enemy, forcing it to suffer a humiliating defeat.

The victory of the resistance in the face of the aggression launched by the Israeli occupation entity against Lebanon on the 12th of July 2006 and which lasted for more than a month, unmasked the false power of the enemy, as the resistance wrote the most wonderful epics of heroism during 33 days of steadfastness and sacrifices.

The brutal aggression ended in abject failure, as the Israeli occupation forces incurred heavy losses and suffered a heavy defeat that its tanks and advanced weapons could not protect it after it violated Lebanon’s sovereignty and practiced all forms of terrorism and aerial bombardment with all kinds of weapons for villages and cities and launched its barbaric war machine on residential neighborhoods, schools, hospitals and facilities infrastructure, however, the resistance defeated it and achieved a decisive military and strategic victory.

The Israeli enemy tried, since the first days of the aggression, to reach a ceasefire due to its feeling of helplessness and defeat in the face of the qualitative operations of the resistance, but the United States, with the complicity of other countries worked on the continuation of the aggression until the then US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was forced to admit that  the aggression failed to achieve any of its goals. On the 14th of August 2006, a ceasefire was reached based on a UN Security Council Resolution No. 1701, which stipulated the prevention of Israeli attacks on Lebanese territory.

The confessions that came out of the investigations conducted by about 52 Israeli military officers in the wake of the disastrous defeat suffered by the enemy in the summer of 2006 cemented victory on the ground, as they were all unanimously agreed on the intelligence and military superiority of the resistance. 

The victory of the Lebanese resistance in the July aggression remains firmly established throughout history because it changed the equations of power in the region and turned its balance in favor of the owners of the right. It also proved once again that resistance is the only option to preserve the dignity of peoples and recover the occupied land.
