On October 24th, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates held a farewell party for the Ambassador of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela in Damascus, Jose Gregorio Piomorji Musatis, on the occasion of the end of his duties as his country’s ambassador to the Syrian Arab Republic, at the Dama Rose Hotel in Damascus.

During the ceremony, Dr. Ayman Sousan, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, awarded Ambassador Piomorjithe Syrian Order of Merit of the Excellent Class in gratitude to his friendly country and in appreciation of his honorable person and his good efforts to strengthen relations between the two countries.

After receiving the medal, Ambassador Piomorji expressed his thanks and gratitude to President Bashar al-Assad for granting him this medal, considering it an incentive to continue working to strengthen bilateral relations and convey the reality of the war on Syria to the world.

Piomorji stressed that Syria’s victory and the steadfastness of its people in the face of the terrorist war changes the face of history and paves the way for the formation of a new multi-power world.

Piomorji pointed out that Venezuela is facing a similar war waged by the world’s hegemonic powers today.

In a statement to reporters, Dr. Susan stressed the depth of friendship between Venezuela and Syria, and the peoples of the two countries share the same suffering and their exposure to American conspiracies and unilateral coercive measures that affect ordinary people in their daily lives.

The ceremony was attended by a number of ambassadors accredited in Damascus and directors of departments in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
