The US just hit 1 million cases of coronavirus

Capitals, (ST) – The United States has reported 1 million cases of COVID-19 nationwide, as of today (April 28). That’s about one-third of all reported cases of the disease in the world. 

The American Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said on Saturday that 1 million and 891,690 people were infected with the emerging coronavirus, an increase of 29034 cases compared to the previous census, adding that the number of deaths rose 1128 to 109,192 deaths.

In France, the French government announced on its website that the number of deaths rose by 31 people yesterday, bringing the total number to 29,142, as France ranks fifth globally in the number of deaths in the world.

The data of the Robert Koch Institute for Infectious Diseases in Germany today also showed that the number of confirmed cases of coronavirus increased by 301 to a total of 183979 cases, while the number of deaths rose to 22 to a total of 8,668 deaths.

In Mexico, the Ministry of Health announced that 3593 confirmed new cases of coronavirus, bringing the total to 113,619 and the number of deaths to 13511 after 341 new deaths were recorded.

For its part, the Brazilian Ministry of Health recorded 904 deaths and 27075 new infections in the Corona virus during the past 24 hours.

In turn, the South Korean Center for Disease Control announced today that the death toll reached 11776 as of midnight yesterday, an increase of 57 cases compared to the previous day, while the total number of deaths remained at 273 cases without recording any new deaths.

Today, Thailand recorded eight new cases without registering deaths, stabilizing the deaths at 58, bringing the total to 3112 since the outbreak began in January.
In China, the National Health Commission registered six new cases yesterday, three more than the previous day, bringing the total number of cases to 83,036, while the number of deaths remains unchanged at 4,634.

For his part, Chinese Minister of Science and Technology Wang Zi Zhang announced at a press conference in Beijing today that China will increase international cooperation if it succeeds in developing a vaccine for the emerging corona virus, stressing that his country will make the vaccine a global public benefit when it is ready.

Meanwhile, Shanghai Junxi Biological Science Company said it had begun a study in its early stages to test its possible treatment of antibodies against corona virus in healthy people.
