The United Nations is content with documenting settler terrorism against the Palestinians without fulfilling its responsibilities
The terrorism of Israeli settlers against the Palestinians is escalating from assaulting them in the cities and towns of the West Bank, to seizing their land, homes, and property and forcibly displacing them from them, while the United Nations is content with documenting the crimes of the occupation in one report after another without shouldering its responsibilities and taking practical action to stop them.
The National Office for Land Defense and Settlement Resistance of the Palestine Liberation Organization explained in a report published yesterday on its website that the latest report issued by the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) confirmed the escalation of settler terrorism against Palestinians during the past year and the first eight months of this year.
The National Office stated that the UN report pointed out that since 2022, Palestinians have been displaced from four villages, and they are now empty, while more than half were displaced in six other villages and about a quarter from seven villages.
The National Office stated that although the United Nations confirmed in its report that the escalation of settler terrorism is the reason for the displacement of the Palestinians, it is content with monitoring their terrorist practices and does nothing to stop them.
The National Office confirmed that the displacement of Palestinians from their villages in Tubas, Nablus, Ramallah, Al-Bireh, the vicinity of Jerusalem, and the MasaferYatta area in Hebron is a systematic policy of the occupation.
The National Office pointed out that last week, settlers seized areas of land south of Ain al-Hilweh and KhalletMakhul in the Jordan Valley and Khirbet Karma, south of Hebron and east of Bethlehem, to establish settlement outposts there.
The National Office stated that the occupation continues to expand settlement operations throughout the West Bank, as it seized 350 dunams of land from the villages of Beit Liqya, west of Ramallah, Qatna, Al-Qubayba, and Beit Anan, northwest of Jerusalem, and announced plans to establish 250 settlement units in the town of Jabal Mukaber, southeast of Jerusalem.
