The UN Special Committee on the Situation with Regard to the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples reelected Syria’s Permanent Representative at the UN Dr. Bashar al-Jaafari as its rapporteur.
During the session chaired by UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, the Permanent Representative of Grenada was reelected as the head of the Committee, and the representatives of Indonesia, Cuba, and Sierra Leone as deputy heads.
The Committee on Decolonization is also known as C-24.
