Ankara,(ST)-Today, the Turkish regime authorities arrested 23 people under the pretext of their association with the preacher Fethullah Gülen, whom Erdogan’s authorities accuse of being behind the 2016 coup attempt in the country.
Anatolia News Agency, speaking for the Turkish regime, quoted a security source as saying that at least 23 people were arrested in the western province of Izmir, after arrest decisions were issued against 28 people on suspicion of having links with Fethullah Gulen.
During the arrests, the Turkish regime police confiscated some money and digital materials, while the search for five people continues.
Since the coup attempt more than four years ago, Erdogan’s regime has been waging a severe crackdown targeting its opponents, as tens of thousands of people have been arrested and dismissed in various civil, military and judicial institutions in the country.
