Diverse handicrafts and micro-enterprise products were featured in the “A Touch of Art” bazaar, which was opened today by the Oriental Crafts Association at the Prince Restaurant in Sweida.
Approximately 20 craftsmen and producers are participating in the three-day bazaar, showcasing works that combine woolen crafts, embroidery, handicrafts, accessories, candles, and more.
Yami Al-Jarmani, Vice Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of the Oriental Crafts Association in Sweida, stated that the bazaar aims to showcase handicrafts, encourage craftsmen, and motivate them to continue.
Bazaar coordinator Nabila Al-Hadi explained the importance of holding exhibitions and bazaars to support handicrafts and showcase the distinguished works of artisans.
During a conversation with several participants at the bazaar, craftswoman Wafaa Abu Khalil mentioned that she participated with works combining burlap and crochet, in an attempt to showcase the products of her project in this field.
Craftswoman Rasha Mounes noted that she participated with a selection of accessories, loom work, and beaded bags in various colors.
Craftswoman Nihad Zein Al-Din presented loom-made shawls from the results of her small project, which she has been working on for years.
Wafaa Munther used kilim threads to create a variety of handicrafts, including gifts, souvenirs, and bags, and displayed them at the bazaar.
