The Syrian women’s football team finished second in the West Asian Championship held in Lebanon, after losing to the Lebanese team by with one goal to five in the final match of the competition.
On its way to the final, our team won the first round against Lebanon B with three clean goals, and the Jordan team with four goals against three before losing to Lebanon A with two goals without a response, to finish the first round with second place, while the Lebanon team A came first.
The tournament system stipulates that the three teams play together in one group in the first round, and in the second round, the first-placed player plays with the second-placed player to determine the West Asian champion, while the third-placed player plays with the fourth to determine the third place.
