The Syrian-Russian joint meeting to follow up the international conference on the return of Syrian refugees begins today

Damascus (ST): With the participation of a large Russian delegation,  the Syrian-Russian joint meeting will be launched today at the Conference Center in Damascus to follow up the work of the international conference on the return of Syrian refugees and displaced persons who were forced by terrorist crimes to leave the country.

Over the course of three days, the meeting will discuss the measures taken by the Syrian state to create conditions for the return of Syrian refugees and provide decent living conditions and a comfortable environment in coordination and cooperation with the Russian Federation.

During the period of the meeting, there will be tours of the Russian delegation to several governorates, interspersed with various activities, including providing humanitarian aid, and medical experts from both sides will conduct a number of joint medical experiments. A number of agreements will be signed between the two sides and discuss mechanisms for developing bilateral work and direct export, as well as developing cooperation between the Syrian and Russian media.

The international conference on the return of Syrian refugees was held in November 2020, and called on the international community to provide appropriate support to provide housing for the displaced and their return to normal life and increase its contribution and support to Syria, including work through the implementation of projects related to early reconstruction, including basic infrastructure facilities such as water and electricity schools, hospitals, health and medical care, social services, and demining.
