The Syrian Pavilion at the Beijing Expo for Horticulture … A Heritage Character and a Tourist Attraction
Damascus- The participation of the Syrian companies in the 2018 Beijing International Horticultural Expo, which is being held in Beijing under the title “Green Life, Better Life”, has attracted attention of the visiting delegations to the Syrian pavilion.
The Syrian pavilion in the exhibition extends over 200 square meters with the participation of a number of Syrian companies specialized in tourism, agriculture and handicraft industries to display their products including the Damascene flower, the various agricultural seedlings and the most important oils and industries which are famous for Syria.
On the participation of the Ministry of Tourism in the exhibition, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Bassam Parsik, explained that his ministry worked in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture and the Syrian Embassy in China to design the Syrian pavilion in accordance with traditional heritage as a media and tourism attraction.
The pavilion has been decorated with a number of paintings and photos of the most important tourist sites in Syria in addition to some artifacts.
“A number of craftsmen were sent to participate in the exhibition in order to introduce the traditional crafts and industries that characterized Syria, as well as a number of promotional films and materials in the Chinese language to achieve active participation and attract tourists from both China and the multi-national visitors,” he clarified.
The importance of the participation of the Ministry of Tourism in the exhibition, according to Mr. Parsik, to highlight the cultural image of Syria and promote its important location and competitive industries, thus contributing to the opening of new markets and benefit the Syrian economy.
It noteworthy that over 110 Arab and foreign countries and organizations re taking part in the Exhibition.
The Beijing 2019 Expo began on April 29 and continues until October 7. The exhibition covers an area of 503 hectares at the foot of the Great Wall and is expected to attract 16 million visitors from around the world. The event is considered as an important global station for economic and cultural exchanges and business.
