The Syrian International Olympiad Team participates in the European Physics Olympiad

Damascus (ST): The international team of the Syrian Scientific Olympiad for Physics participated in the European Physics Olympiad EUPhO for the year 2021, which was organized remotely by Estonia.

The Syrian team, according to a statement by the Excellence and Creativity Commission consists of 5 members, 3 of whom are participating in this Olympiad for the first time, noting that the Syrian participation takes place through 4 geographical centers in Damascus, Aleppo, Tartous and Lattakia.

 

The statement explained that the tests were held over a period of five continuous hours, where the first day was devoted to theoretical tests,  the second day was devoted to practical tests, indicating that the tests deal with broad scientific axes in physics, most notably “mechanics, thermodynamics, electricity, magnetism, waves, geometric and wave light, electrical circuits and modern physics.

It is noteworthy that the Syrian team won two bronze medals and two certificates of appreciation in the last European Olympiad.
