On March 18th, the General Federation of Trade Unions (GFTU) affirmed the continuation of its struggle and perseverance in the cause of the public interest and national interests.
On the 83rd anniversary of its founding, the union said in a statement
that the hands of workers, cadres and national competencies built a comprehensive renaissance.
The union said that the event of the establishment of the Union in 1938 marked a turning point in the history and life of the Syrian working class and its trade union movement.
The union said that its march was not limited to patriotic and class work inside the country, but extended to honorable stances at the Syrian union, Arab and international levels.
The Union said: “Our working class stood during the confrontation of the most brutal Zionist colonial war against which Syria was subjected.”
The union concluded its statement: “Workers of Syria will complete the march of united struggle for the sake of homeland pride, independence, the unity of Syria.’
