The Syrian Gas Company’s maintenance workshops begin repairing damages caused by terrorist attacks

On February 4, the Syrian Gas Company’s maintenance and technical teams started repairing the damage caused by the terrorist attack that targeted a number of the company’s facilities in the eastern Homs countryside and the Homs’ Oil Refinery.

The General Manager of the Syrian Gas Company Eng. Ghassan Tarraf said that the attack is the second in a month and a half and it targeted several facilities belonging to the company, which are the Rayan Gas Station, the Southern Gas Plant, the Zara Gas Station, in addition to the Ebla Gas Plant and the Homs Oil Refinery.

 

Tarraf said that the attack resulted in damages to some of the stations’ pipes, cables and  compressors.

Tarraf explained that the Zara Gas Station was exposed to two shells and the damage was minor. While the Ebla gas plant was damaged in one of the units and it is currently in operation. He added that all the targeted installations will return to service within 72 hours.

The General Manager of Homs Oil Refinery Eng. Haitham Mosoker said that the maintenance workshops in the refinery began immediately repairing the damage in the units that had been attacked and would be working  within 72 hours.
