Within the framework of the military games held in Russia, the Syrian Arab Army team achieved first place in the second stage of the individual tank biathlon race that took place at the Abino Track in the outskirts of Moscow today, outperforming all other participants in its group at this stage, namely the Myanmar, Laos and Armenia teams.
The Syrian Arab Army team came in second place in the first stage of the race on the 13th of this August and proved its positions today as a strong team whose members are skilled in leading the tank in battle conditions and shooting from it and hitting targets accurately, whether by firing the shells from the tank’s cannon or the machine gun installed on it and bypassing the dirt obstacles, water and rocky hills.
The third and final stage of the individual tank biathlon race is now awaited within the four groups that were formed according to the lottery, to determine the two winning teams in each group and move on to the semi-final race with the participation of 12 teams.
Along with the Syrian Arab Army team, 275 military teams from 37 countries are participating in this year’s activities, competing in 36 competitions.
Head of the Syrian delegation to the military games, Major General Maan al-Dahma, said that Syria, after ten years of war against terrorist organizations, is achieving honorable results in military games today and is running the games successfully.
Major General al-Dahma added, “The Syrian team benefited greatly from the practical experiences after its arrival in Russia, like the rest of the friendly teams participating in the tank biathlon, pointing out that the arrangement of the Syrian team in the second group is new.
Major General al-Dahma referred to the satisfaction that the members of the Syrian team and the delegation accompanying it feel for the relationship of cooperation shown by the Russian side, pointing out that Russia is a friendly country to Syria and has always been with us hand in hand in the war against terrorism.
In turn, the coach of the Syrian tank team, Captain Hamza Suleiman, said: In the first round of this race, the Syrian team achieved the second rank, and today the Syrian team achieved the first rank as a result of the modifications the team saw. He stressed the team’s determination to achieve better results in the upcoming rounds, whether in terms of time, performance and implementation.
For his part, fighter Lorca Aizouki, a member of the Syrian tank biathlon team, said that the Syrian team achieved a good result in the first race, and today the team members were able to overcome all the obstacles they encountered during the competition and achieved a good time and got first place, pointing out that the third crew of our team will achieve excellent results.
The tank shooter, fighter Muhammad Yasser Khalil, from the second crew of the team in the tank biathlon, considered that today’s round was good and excellent, and the Syrian team achieved first place in it, and said that the team passed all the hurdles and obstacles.
