The Syrian short film “The Barn” wins an award at the Bracciano International Film Festival in Italy

Rome, (ST) – The Syrian short film “Al-Zariba”(The Barn), written and directed by Al-Ayham Ali, won the award for the best social film from the Gasp Foundation at the Bracciano International Film Festival in Italy.

The Gasp Foundation, one of the festival’s organizing institutions, granted this award to the film “Al-Zariba” because it presented a complete story without any words. It is a silent film based on emotions.

The audience interacted with the story that presented the life of a person who mixed the public with the private, reality with fantasy, and madness with sanity.

It is the story of Samer, a young man in the prime of his life and whose life is turned upside down.

Director Ali received the award in the town of Bracciano in Italy, where the film was screened live. He pointed out that it was a very enjoyable and artistically rich experience, especially since 32 films from all over the world participated in the festival.

Director Ali expressed his happiness with it, which means a lot to him and gives him a great incentive to complete his path, which was very difficult.

The film was produced by the General Cinema Corporation in 2022 and stars Marwan Khalouf.
