The Syrian pavilion at the Baghdad International Flower Festival witnesses remarkable turnout of visitors

The Syrian pavilion at the thirteenth Baghdad International Flower Festival, currently held in Al-Zawraa Gardens in the Iraqi capital, is witnessing a large turnout of visitors who have expressed their admiration over the Syrian pavilion’s exhibits of plants, flowers, and equipment for the exhibition.
The Director of Damascus Tourism, Engineer Majid Ezzidine pointed out that the Ministry of Tourism and the Union of Chambers of Agriculture are presenting in the exhibition various types of plants, flowers and seedlingsthat Syria is famous for on an area of 4,000 square metres.

He pointed out that the aim of participating in the festival aims to spread the culture of interest in plants and expand their cultivation,  in order to increase green spaces, preserve vegetation, and introduce the plants that Syria is famous for.

According to  Ezzidine, the festival includes 13 Syrian participants from the Ministry of Tourism and the Federation of Tourism Chambers, which included fruit and forest trees as well as ornamental plants, all of which are from the Syrian environment.

In turn, the head of the nursery committee in the Chamber of Agriculture of Damascus and its countryside, Hassan Haliwa, pointed out the great diversity of the Syrian varieties on display, which amounted to 20 varieties of ornamental trees, house plants, garden landscaping and seedlings, in addition to forest trees in varieties that suit the climate of Iraq, including shamshir, cypress, tangerine trees, cardinia, jasmine and others.

The festival activities were launched on the 19th of this month with the participation of 11 Arab and foreign countries.
