The Syrian Network for Human Rights condemns the Israeli aggression against the Iranian Consulate in Damascus
Damascus (ST) – The Syrian Network for Human Rights strongly condemned the Israeli aggression that targeted the Iranian Consulate in Damascus on Monday.
In a statement, the Network called on the Security Council to decide in this regard what measures should be taken in accordance with the United Nations Global Compact to implement its resolutions and maintain international peace and security.
The Network affirmed that the attack on embassies and consulates is a violation of international conventions and norms and the Vienna Convention, which guarantees the protection and security of diplomatic missions, and that attacking them is considered a terrorist act and those who commit it must be confronted.
The Network described this blatant aggression as a double assault on the Syrian and Iranian sovereignty, and as an insult to human dignity, international institutions, and global public opinion.
It called on the international community and all countries to boycott the occupying entity and bring its rulers to the International Court of Justice and Criminal Court as the victims of this aggression were mostly civilians.
The network considered that expanding the Israeli attacks from Gaza to Rafah and Khan Yunis, reaching southern Lebanon and deep Syria, amid the silence of international institutions and bias towards the aggressor Israeli entity, is a legitimization of these attacks.
The Syrian Network warned of the consequences of the continuity of the Israeli attacks in the region and the complications of such attacks, which are considered a declaration of open war that cover the entire region and the world. It holds the Security Council and the United Nations responsible for stopping these attacks.
The Network offered its deep condolences to all the families of the victims of this terrorist attack.
The head of the Syrian Network for Human Rights Ahmed Khazem said that the tasks of the Security Council and the United Nations have become undermined, incomplete, and dependent on the American-affiliated West, which has deviated from the principles and goals of international legitimacy, international law, international humanitarian law and the principles and goals of the United Nations Charter.
