The Swedish Communist Party expressed its solidarity with those affected by the earthquake that hit Syria last February, calling for lifting the sanctions imposed on the Syrian people to face the repercussions of this disaster.
The party indicated in a statement that the rescue work after the earthquake became more difficult, due to the sanctions imposed by the United States and the European Union on Syria.
The party noted that the rescue workers suffered from a lack of fuel for ambulances at a time when the American forces were stealing Syrian oil.
The party called on the Swedish government not to participate in the brutal sanctions policy of the United States and the European Union against millions of Syrians.
The party urged Stockholm to use its veto power in the face of European sanctions against the Syrian people.
