The special authorities seize weapons, ammunition and narcotic substances in southern Syria and Damascus countryside
During their patrolling of the liberated areas, the special authorities found large quantities of various weapons and ammunition from the remnants of terrorists in addition to smuggled narcotics in the countryside of Damascus and the southern region.
A source told SANA reporter that during the close security follow-up and in cooperation with the people of the city of Douma, the special authorities were informed about the presence of weapons and ammunition hidden in Douma farms in the area of Karm Rasas near the international highway Damascus Homs. During their patrolling of the region, the authorities found a 2-meter deep hole in which machine guns and 5 assorted bomb boxes were hidden.
The source indicated that rifle ammunition, NATO machine ammunition, assorted ammunition, RPG and mortar with various calibres, Concurs anti-tank missiles, high-precision Steyr snipers and various machine guns were seized in the southern region.
The source pointed out that the special authorities thwarted the attempt to smuggle a large amount of detonators and drugs in one of the border areas and arrested their smugglers, indicating that the confiscations included about 100,000 detonators and a quantity of drugs estimated at 500 bags of drugs and 38 bags of narcotic pills.
During the patrolling operations along the areas liberated from terrorism, army units found dozens of tunnels, weapons and ammunition depots, most of which were Western-made, and large quantities of logistical equipment in addition to command and control headquarters that were used by the terrorists to attack the safe areas and points of the Syrian Arab Army.
