The Spanish Communist Party demands the end of unilateral coercive measures against Syria

The Spanish Communist Party condemned the unilateral coercive measures imposed by the United States and the European Union on Syria and other countries, stressing that it is a form of blackmail, war and a flagrant violation of human rights.

In a statement posted on its website, the Party called for an end to the US and European economic sanctions imposed on many countries, including Syria, Venezuela, Iran and Cuba, indicating that these unilateral measures contribute to the aggravation  of the emerging Coronavirus pandemic.

The statement pointed out that the United States uses sanctions as a tool to strangle and isolate countries that refuse to obey its orders, noting that imposing unacceptable laws and procedures against other countries is another example of the aggressive foreign policy of the United States.
