The Slovak Foreign Minister calls on European Union countries to continue recognizing the Palestinian state

Slovak Foreign Minister Juraj Planar called on European countries to continue recognizing the Palestinian state as long as they consider that the only solution in the Middle East lies in the “two-state solution.”
Planar pointed out in a statement to reporters that Slovakia recognized the Palestinian state within the framework of Czechoslovakia’s recognition of it in 1988, and that this commitment was adopted within the framework of the independent Slovak state, which is why it voted on May 10 in the United Nations General Assembly in favor of strengthening Palestine’s status in the United Nations.
He stressed that building Israeli settlements on Palestinian lands does not contribute to achieving peace.
He called on the Israeli occupation entity to respect the decision of the International Court of Justice and halt its attack on Rafah and open humanitarian corridors.
He warned that Rafah and other towns in Gaza are threatened by famine.
