The Short Syrian Film” Photograph” wins a prize at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival in Tunisia
The Syrian short narrative film (Photograph), directed by Almouhannad Kulthoum and produced by the general Cinema Foundation, won the Golden Khlel Prize of the best short narrative film at the International Documentary and Short Film Festival in Medenine Province, south of Tunisia.
12 narrative films from several Arab countries competed for the awards of the festival which concluded its ninth session yesterday evening in the city of Medenine.
The film deals with the issue of child labor and the children being forced to leave their school and work to secure a living for their families. The film also monitors the impacts of war on Syria on this young age group.
The film is written by Buthaina Naissa and stars the artists Suleiman Al-Ahmad, Ghaleb Shandouba, Jamal Al-Ali, Sufouh Mimas, and Etab Abu Saada.
In a statement to a SANA reporter, the director of the work Al-Mouhannad Kulthum expressed his happiness for the participation of his film in many Arab and international festivals and for the film’s winning of many awards, especially as it highlights the negative impacts of the war on Syria, mainly on children, wishing the Syrian cinema success in achieving more Arab and international awards.
The film’s crew comprises production director Khaled Al-Ahmad, director of photography Muhammad Matar, lighting supervisor Jamal Matar, editing and graphics supervisor Nour Al-Din Al-Kurdi, music by Khaled Rizk, the director is Ali Al-Maghout, the cinematographer is Salam Husseino, the script is Rahaf Khadour, the sound is Hassan Koksh, the photographer is Muhannad Bayda, the public relations is Fater Suleiman, the makeup is Mazen Saboura, the clutch is Hala Al-Laham, and the clothes is Sameh Hadaqi.
