The Security Council is unable to fulfill its duty to ensure international peace and security, says Kanaani

Tehran, (ST) –  Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani affirmed that the UN Security Council failed to carry out its duty in terms of ensuring international peace and security and preventing the Zionist aggression against Gaza.

Kanaani on Monday pointed out during his weekly press conference that the American government is not part of the solution regarding the war on Gaza, but rather it is part of the continuation of the genocide against its people.

The American government once again demonstrated its full support for “Israel” by using its “veto” and voted in favor of the continuation of the Zionists’ brutality against the Palestinian people.

Kanaani pointed out that some forces are exploiting their influence and preventing the Council from carrying out its duties and tasks. He stressed the need for it to be more efficient in ensuring international peace and security.
