Under the title of “Toward the Knowledge Economy”, the second scientific conference of Syrian expatriate researchers 2020 will be kicked off on August 11 at headquarters of the Higher Commission for Scientific Research in Damascus.
In cooperation and partnership with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Network of Syrian Scientists, Technologists and Innovators in the Overseas “Nostia”, the International Planning and Cooperation Commission , the Arab School of Science and Technology, and the Syrian Scientific Society for Informatics, the Commission organize the video conference under the title of “Towards a knowledge economy, the role of Syrian researchers in the homeland and overseas”
The Conference will be attended by local and Syrian expatriate researchers from 15 countries with various disciplines of scientific and technological research and various fields of knowledge. The conference aims to establish effective research and partnerships between Syrian researchers in the homeland and overseas.
For three days, the participants will discuss a number of scientific issues dealing with the axes of information technology, communication and technology management, biotechnology, nanotechnology, energy technology and the environment.
Director General of the Higher Commission for Scientific Research Dr. Majd Al-Jamali said that the conference constitutes an opportunity for the Syrian expatriates who wish to present creative ideas and new experiences with regard to reconstruction process.
Dr. Al-Jamali pointed out that the themes of the conference are closely related to the development of information reality, technologies, energy, and reconstruction.
He said that the first conference was held in 2019 and established research partnerships between Syrian researchers and their counterparts in overseas.
The 2019 Conference focused on main axes in the medical, pharmaceutical, engineering, advanced technologies, environment, natural resources, energy, economic sphere and infrastructure development.
