The Russian Mission to the United Nations: The International Criminal Court is a political tool in the hands of America and its allies

On April 28th, the Russian Permanent Mission to the United Nations affirmed that the International Criminal Court is a political tool and is far from justice, noting that Russia is determined to uproot Nazism from Ukraine.

“The International Criminal Court is almost a political tool and has nothing to do with justice, and two of the organizers participating in the meeting, the United States and Britain, did their best to protect their armies from this court,” RIA Novosti news agency quoted the head of the legal department of the mission, Sergei Leonidchenko, as saying during an informal meeting of the Security Council.

Leonidchenko pointed out that investigations into war crimes committed by the soldiers of these two countries in Iraq and Afghanistan are not given priority by the court.

Leonidchenko added: “Both countries have developed preventive legislation, and political and financial pressure and even the imposition of personal sanctions on the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court have led to the desired result, which is the lack of prosecution of the US and British militaries.”

Leonidchenko stressed that all this fully demonstrates the degree of impartiality and objectivity of the International Criminal Court, as well as the hypocrisy of the United States and Britain, which suddenly began to support the court and pour millions of dollars into it.

With regard to Ukraine and the crimes of the neo-Nazis in it, Leonidchenko stressed that there is a lot of irrefutable evidence and testimonies on the secret torture center of the Ukrainian Security Service at Mariupol Airport.

Leonidchenko said that this center was used to torture, rape and kill detained civilians suspected of not being loyal to the Kiev regime.

“Be absolutely sure that those responsible for these and other heinous crimes will be brought to justice, no one will go unpunished and Ukraine will be uprooted,”Leonidchenko said.
