The Russian Foreign Ministry: The necessity of aligning humanitarian aid to Syria with the principles of respect for its sovereignty and territorial integrity

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin stressed the need to align international humanitarian aid to Syria with the principles of respect for its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
In a statement today, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that Vershinin stressed, during an event held yesterday on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, the need to intensify activities to rehabilitate the main facilities in Syria, such as water, electricity, schools, hospitals and housing, which is of critical importance for a dignified return. and safe return for Syrian refugees and internally displaced persons.
In its statement, the Russian Foreign Ministry said that there was an intensive exchange of views on the implementation of Security Council Resolution No. 2642, with a focus on ensuring the transparency of cross-border humanitarian supplies, emphasizing the sustainable and regular access of aid from Damascus to civilians throughout Syria, and the United Nations efforts to restore early infrastructure reconstruction.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, discussed with the Secretary-General of the United Nations Antonio Guterres in New York yesterday aspects of cooperation between Syria and the United Nations, stressing the need for some countries not to obstruct the implementation of the content of Security Council Resolution No. 2642 regarding early recovery projects.
