The Russian Embassy in Washington: The American media distorts the facts about the bombing of the North Stream pipelines

Washington (ST): The Russian Embassy in the United States confirmed that journalists close to the US administration are participating in a media campaign to divert attention from the results of journalist Seymour Hersh’s investigation, which concluded that Washington was responsible for the bombing of the Northern Streamlines.

The embassy was quoted by TASS news agency as saying “We draw attention to the continuous coordinated flow of disinformation about terrorist attacks on the Nord Stream gas pipelines, as journalists of publications close to the US administration continue to deliberately produce false versions of the reasons for the destruction of critical energy infrastructure  in the Baltic Sea”.

The embassy stated that these media outlets again publish stories about some “citizens who carried out such a complex act of sabotage on a chartered yacht,” although any sane person realizes that o ky  specific countries possess certain technologies that  are able to prepare and implement such terrorist work.

The statement stressed that the purpose of this media campaign is to “distract readers’ attention from Hersh’s resonant and toxic investigation of Western capitals, and to prevent the emergence of new important details, including the discovery of an unknown device, 30 kilometers from the attack site, resembling an air detonator.”

The statement pointed out that if American correspondents were really interested in determining the true circumstances, and who is behind this “crime of the century,” we advise them to pay attention to Russia’s calls for a transparent investigation into the case.
