The Russian Coordination Center provides food aid in Zabadani

Damascus Countryside (ST): The Russian Coordination Center in Syria provided food aid to a number of the people in the city of Zabadani in the Countryside of Damascus and to the affected families who came to the city from earthquake-stricken governorates.

The aid was distributed in the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary.

The deputy head of the Russian Coordination Center in Syria, Navy Major General Oleg Egorov, confirmed in a statement to news reporter that this aid is a donation from the Russian military in Syria, pointing out that part of it was also sent to the provinces affected by the earthquake.

Egorov pointed out that Russia and Syria are subjected to an economic war, which is a more difficult type than conventional wars, noting the depth of relations between the friendly peoples of Russia and Syria who love peace and justice.

For his part, Archimandrite Ibrahim Daoud, the Parish priest in Zabadani and the Church of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary, valued Russia’s standing by Syria during the terrorist war it is exposed to, and the support it provides today to confront the repercussions of the earthquake disaster.
