Moscow, (ST) – Eleanor Mitrovanova, the head of the Russian Agency for International Cooperation “Ross Sutrodnichestvo,” announced that it is expected that the work of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Damascus will be resumed by the middle of next year.
In a special meeting with Sputnik, Mitrovanovasaid that “In Syria there has always been a wonderful center and it is one of the best centers in our system. A new director has already been appointed and next year we plan to reform this center.”
“Initially the center was temporarily closed, but the local staff remained there, and the center was supervised by our representative in Beirut, and most likely by the middle of next year, after the completion of the reform, the center will start its work,” Mitrovanova added.
The Russian Center for Science and Culture in Damascus suspended its activities in 2013 and in early 2014 the activities of the center were partially resumed, but its work was suspended again.
