The Russian and Venezuelan Foreign Ministers agree to enhance political dialogue and trade

The Russian Foreign Ministry announced that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil agreed to strengthen political dialogue and trade ties between the two countries.

The ministry said in a statement after the two ministers met on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York: “The two sides emphasized the dynamic development of bilateral relations within the framework of the strategic partnership, and agreed on steps aimed at strengthening them, with a focus on deepening political dialogue and intensifying trade relations.”

Lavrov expressed his support for Venezuela’s efforts aimed at ensuring the stability of the internal political situation and moving forward on the economic and social development.

Lavrov welcomed Venezuela’s role in regional affairs, its contribution to intensifying integration processes on the continent, and helping to bring rapprochement between Latin America and the Eurasian Economic Union.
