The Riyadh-formed Syrian opposition’s declaration contradicts constitutional committee’s mechanism

In a clear cut announcement of its intention to breach the mechanism recently formed the Syrian Constitution Committee, the opposition body emerged from Riyadh declared that it had been working on writing a new constitution since one year and half.

Yahya Aridi, the member of the ‘High Negotiations Committee’ whose headquarters is in Riyadh, said: “Over the past 18 months, we have studied  all types of constitutions and forms of rule and we will finalize the constitution’s draft in the next 2 months.”

This declaration contradicts with the agreement of the make up of the constitutional committee that provides for discussing the 2012 constitution. Besides, Damascus reiterated that any talks about ready-made constitutions is rejectable , according to the Damascus-based al-Watan newspaper.
