The resignation of the Lebanese Minister of Information

Beirut,(ST)-Lebanese Minister of Information Chamanal Abdel Samad Najd announced her resignation from the government.

The Lebanese National News Agency quoted the minister as saying in a statement today: “I apologize to the Lebanese-we  were unable to meet their aspirations .. Change remained elusive, and since the reality did not match the ambition, and after the horror of the Beirut disaster, I submit my resignation from the government.”

A large explosion occurred in the Beirut port on the fourth of this month, killing 158 people and wounding about 6 thousand others, while the Lebanese Prime Minister Hassan Diab confirmed yesterday that the disaster of Beirut Port will not pass without accountability and that no one will be immune, especially since the judicial procedures give an indication of the credibility of the investigation.
