The Real Causes of the Crisis in Syria

When talking about a political solution to the crisis in Syria or any initiative that may be offered by any country, firstly we have to ask an important question: What is really the nature of this crisis?

Before talking about the political solution, all parties must specify the reasons behind this crisis, also they must have to fully agree to solve it.

In fact, the problem for the Syrian government and the majority of the Syrian people and many of the opposition parties is the terrorism, violence and foreign interference.

As for the main aim for the external opposition, which is led and supported by the foreign powers, is the escalation of the crisis in Syria in an attempt to topple the Syrian government. For this reason the US and its west and regional allies use the mercenaries who practice all kinds of terrorism in the country aiming to apply pressure on the Syrian government and the Syrian people.

In that context, it becomes so difficult to talk about the political solution because the foreign powers dominate the so-called external opposition, which claims that it represents the Syrian people. Of course it is not true because this opposition is but a tool for the implementation of the interests of the US and Israel and the European countries in Syria in particular, and the region in general.

Unfortunately, the crisis in Syria entered its fifth year in which the Syrians paid high prices of their lives, security and stability.

Thus, almost everyone has been convinced that there is no place for the external opposition. Those people and their supporters always equal between the off ender and the victim, the terrorist and the resist or, the one who builds and the other who destroys, and this of course is illogical and unacceptable.

All parties without exception must take clear and explicit attitudes to face what is really going on in Syria. In other words, this global war on Syria was an attempt to target its national unity and sovereignty.

Hence, all parties should review their positions and work side by side with the Syrian government to resolve the crisis objectively through serious dialogue. But here we must take into account the preservation of national interests of the Syrians and respect their will and choices.
