Idlib, (ST) – The Public Establishment for Drinking Water in Idlib Governorate, in cooperation with international organizations, began securing drinking water for 12 communities in the liberated eastern countryside of the governorate through a system of tanks, in line with the increasing number of families returning to their homes.
Eng. Muhammad Ajami, Director General of the Idlib Water Establishment said in a statement to SANA that the irrigation process comes within the framework of providing free drinking water to all families returning to the villages of Al-Raghithi, Humayman, Al-Dayer, Al-Mistaraha, Warda, Jdeideh, Wasita, Talija, Tuahina, Al-Hussainiya, Tal Fakhar, Al-Sukkariyah and Abu Dahour liberated in the eastern countryside. He pointed out that the irrigation plan includes the delivery of water through a system of tanks to the homes of citizens at a rate of 1 cubic meter every 5 days to support and empower families, as these tanks are supplied with drinking water from Aleppo Governorate.
Ajami indicated that the emergency and urgent intervention by the Establishment comes against the background of the increasing number of returnees to their liberated villages and their need for drinking water. He added that the Establishment will continue to provide these communities through these tanks pending the launch of work on the Abu Dahour water networks project, which is scheduled to irrigate these residential communities.
