The Prime Minister of Greece announces the need to strengthen the armed forces in response to the threats of the Turkish regime

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has announced deals to buy weapons and comprehensive reform for the army amid the Turkish regime’s violations of the eastern Mediterranean and its threat to Greek sovereignty.

 “ The time has come to reinforce the armed forces.

These initiatives constitute a strong program that will turn into a national shield,” Agence France-Presse quoted Mitsotakis as saying in a speech On September 12 in the northern city of Thessaloniki.

He said that his country will receive 18 French Rafale aircraft, four multi-mission frigates and four helicopters in addition to the recruitment of 15 thousand soldiers and the funding in the national arms industry and defense against Siberian attacks.

In contrast to other allies in the European Union and NATO, France has strongly supported Greece and Cyprus in the face of Turkish threats. French President Emmanuel Macron warned the President of the Turkish regime, Recep Tayyip Erdogan against crossing the red lines and sent warships and fighter planes to the region.

Mitsotakis said that Ankara threatens the borders of Eastern Europe and undermines regional security.

“We need dialogue, but not when the gun is aimed at the head,” Mitsotakis said.

Erdogan’s regime continues its provocations against neighboring countries in pursuit of its ambitions and the implementation of its plans, which is met with international condemnation.
