The People’s Assembly approves two oil exploration contracts with Russian companies, the new law of the Artists’ Syndicate

On December 16, the People’s Assembly (Syrian Parliament) approved three draft laws including the ratification of two oil exploration contracts with two Russian companies and a new draft law on the Artists Association .

On September 2, 2019, the Syrian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources singed two contracts , the first contract with the Russian Mercury Limited Company for oil exploration, development and production in Block 7 and Block 19, and the second contract with the Russian Vilada Limited Liability Company for oil exploration, development and production in Block 23

The Syrian Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Ali Ghanem said that exploration contracts aim to increase production operations and put new areas into service.

 Minister Ghanem said that the Ministry is continuing to sign off-shore contracts for oil investment, but economic sanctions on Syria have prevented them.
