The people of the occupied Golan continue their struggle to thwart the settlement turbine scheme

Occupied Syrian Golan (ST): Our people in the occupied Syrian Golan reiterated their continuation of the struggle against the Israeli occupation to thwart its settlement scheme by building wind turbines on more than four thousand dunums of their agricultural lands.

The people indicated during a meeting held in the shrine of Abu Dhar Al-Ghafari in the Al-Marj area between the occupied villages of Masada and Majdal Shams that the occupation is seeking, by all means, to implement its plan on their agricultural lands, stressing that after exhausting all means to stop the scheme, the people have no choice but to confront the occupation in the field to bring down the plan and prevent implementation of any step of this colonialist project no matter the sacrifices and the costs.

In a statement at the end of the meeting, the people said that the occupation is trying, through the turbine scheme, to strip us from our land for which we have sacrificed ourselves for over decades, and also aims to prevent urban expansion and restrict the disposal and control of our lands.

The people stressed the imposition of a “religious and social sanctuary” for anyone who dares to deal with the occupation authorities and the “Energex” company, which announced that it would start work on the project within days.

Last Friday, the people of the Golan set up a sit-in tent in the Al-Manfukha area, east of Baraka village, in rejection of the occupation’s plan. They stressed that the land that the fathers and grandfathers shed their blood in  is the property of their children, and they will not allow anyone to desecrate it, calling on the international community to stop this settlement scheme aimed at displacing them, which constitutes a blatant violation of the resolutions of international legitimacy.

The wind turbine scheme is one of the most dangerous colonial and Judaization schemes targeting the occupied Syrian Golan, as it includes the seizure of more than six thousand dunums in three phases in violation of all international laws and resolutions, foremost of which is the Security Council Resolution No. 497 of 1981, which affirms that all measures of the occupation in the Golan are null and void and have no legal effect.
