Damascus Countryside Governorate announced that, starting from today, it will start receiving requests from the people of Al-Hajar Al-Aswad related to filling out forms for their return to the city so that they can begin rehabilitating and renovating their homes after obtaining the necessary approvals from the relevant authorities.
In a statement to SANA’s representative, the head of the local council, Engineer Khaled Khamis, stated that the people living in Al-Hajar Al-Aswad must bring attested identification papers that confirm their ownership of the homes.
Khamis indicated that work related to the infrastructure is still going on in preparation for receiving the residents, and that a large part of it has been completed, especially sewage and water, and work is underway to rehabilitate the electricity network.
Khamis pointed out that during the return of the people schools will be rehabilitated and prepared for the returning students.
