Chairman of the Federation of the Syrian Chambers of Commerce, Chairman of Damascus Chamber of Commerce Ghassan Qalla’a, met on Tuesday with a delegation from the Sultanate of Oman headed by the Chairman of the Board of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Qais Mohammad al-Youssef.
Mr. Qaala’a welcomed the delegation, hoping that the visit will be successful and will center on joint cooperation and reactivation of economic relations while taking into consideration the developments in the Syrian market and the Middle East one.
Qalla’a expressed enthusiasm for Syrian economists who are trying to cooperate with the friendly countries during the reconstruction phase.
During the meeting, al-Youssef said that the Sultanate of Oman took part in the previous years of Damascus International Fair, but this visit is different as more than 14 establishments from different economic sectors will participate. I’m glad to invite you to visit the Omani pavilion to be closely acquainted with the Omani good quality products which I hope will impress you, al-Youssef added.
Al-Youssef expressed readiness for the Omani Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the private sector to offer facilitations and foster the joint investment initiatives.
The prolonged meeting also dealt with activities of the Omani General Commission for Promoting Investment and Developing Exports. The Omani delegation proposed the opportunities of Investment in the Sultanate of Oman, hoping that the Syrian businessmen will enter the Omani market.
During the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the Federation of the Syrian Chambers of Industry, Chairman of Damascus and it’s countryside Chamber of Industry Samer al-Dibs hoped that Oman would participate in the Syrian market especially in the coming phase as the market is currently thirsting for foreign contribution with the aim of reactivating industry and investment with the friendly countries which quickly returned to Syria in spite of the siege and the sanctions imposed on the country.
“The participation of more than 50 Omani traders and industrialists in Damascus International Fair is an opportunity for Syrian businessmen to sign direct and important deals as the Omani market is promising, open and stable and is interested in Syrian goods”, al-Dibs pointed, hoping that the Omani side would make the Sultanate a market for the Syrian Industry through facilitating the entrance of the Syrian businessmen.
About 32 Omani businessmen visited pavilions of the private sector as a preparation for holding agreements and commercial exchange.
