The Palestinian presidency condemns the occupation’s seizure of thousands of dunums in the Jordan Valley
The Palestinian presidency condemned the Israeli occupation authorities’ decision to seize 8,000 dunums of Palestinian land in the northern territories of the West Bank, stating that this is within the context of the occupation policies to prevent the establishment of an independent Palestinian State with Jerusalem as its capital.
Palestinian presidential spokesman Nabil Abu Rudeineh confirmed in a statement today, quoted by the Palestinian agency WAFA, that the occupation authorities’ plans will not succeed in imposing the fait accompli on the land as all settlements are illegal, stressing that there will be no security or stability without the establishment of a Palestinian state free of settlements and settlers.
Abu Rudeineh called on the US administration to prove its commitment to international legitimacy and international law and to force the occupation to stop the genocidal war against the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including the city of Jerusalem, and to stop its crimes and settlements, otherwise the alternative would be equivalent to an explosion of the situation in the region.
In a similar context, the Palestinian Foreign Ministry stressed that Israel preventing Palestinians from reaching the occupied city of Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque to pray there is a punishable crime against humanity, pointing to its plans aimed at expelling and displacing Jerusalemites and completely separating it from the rest of the West Bank.
The Foreign Ministry pointed to the right of Palestinians to reach places of worship, specifically the Al-Aqsa Mosque, as stipulated by the rules of international law, international humanitarian law and Human Rights.
