The Palestinian Ministry of Culture demands protecting its institutions from occupation attacks

Occupied al-Quds, (ST) – The Palestinian Ministry of Culture condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ storming of cultural institutions in the occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem), calling on the international community to protecthese institutions from the continued attacks of the occupation.

The Ministry confirmed in a statement today reported by the Wafa News Agency that the storming of the Israeli occupation to the Yabous Cultural Center and the National Institute of Music branch in occupied al-Quds (Jerusalem), and the arrest of its directors is a form of repression, Judaizationand restrictions on cultural institutions and their workers, stressing that this attack is an attack on the Palestinian national culture and cultural heritage.

 Dr. Hanan Ashrawithe member of the PLO Executive Committee affirmed that this step comes in the context of the ongoing aggression against al-Quds (Jerusalem), its institutions and its employees to liquidate the Palestinian presence in the holy city and Judaize it and erase its identity.

Ashrawi called on the international community, its institutions and bodies, including the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to assume its responsibilities, protect cultural centers, and hold the occupation accountable for its attacks and crimes against the institutions of al-Quds and its cultural, historical and religious heritage.
