The Palestinian Foreign Ministry demands accountability for Israeli war criminals

On January 17th, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the International Criminal Court to expedite the opening of an official investigation into the crimes of the Israeli occupation in the Palestinian territories and to hold the Israeli war criminals accountable in order to achieve international justice.

The Ministry stated that the Israeli occupation continues its crimes and violations against Palestinians, their property and holy sites, with the aim of seizing more Palestinian land and expanding its colonial plans.

The Ministry affirmed that the international silence encourages the Israeli occupation to persist in its crimes and violations and implement its settlement plans, which leads to the final elimination of any opportunity to establish a sovereign and geographically connected Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

The Ministry stressed the need for the international community to assume its legal and moral responsibilities and to take decisive measures and pressure the Israeli occupation to halt its crimes and not be side tracked  with some statements of condemnation or UN decisions that are not implemented.
