The Palestinian Foreign Ministry calls on the international community to implement international legitimacy resolutions

On May 18th, the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs renewed its call on the international community to implement the resolutions of international legitimacy and stop Israeli settlement operations in the occupied Palestinian territories.

The Ministry condemned the occupation authorities’ announcement that they will start returning settlers to the “Homesh” settlement in the northern West Bank, which is built on hundreds of dunums in the Jabal al-Qubaybat area in the lands of the towns of Burqa, north of Nablus.

The Ministry affirmed that this colonial, expansionist and racist decision falls within the framework of the operations of annexing the West Bank and submerging it in a huge settlement perimeter linked to the settlements established in the occupied Palestinian territories in 1948, and transforming the Palestinian areas into isolated areas that are not geographically contiguous.

The Ministry indicated that the absence of the international will to respect and ensure the implementation of the United Nations resolutions on the Palestinian cause, as well as the protection provided by some major countries to the occupation authorities, encourages them to persist in their crimes and violations of international law.

Last March, the Israeli occupation authorities issued a decision to return settlers to 4 settlements in the northern West Bank that they vacated in 2005.
